The Dunedin Jazz Club is pleased to announce that the Michael Costeloe Quintet will perform the opening concert of its 2025 Autumn Season, to be held at Hanover Hall on Saturday, April 12. This event will showcase the original music of award-winning composer Michael Costeloe, a distinguished jazz trumpeter from Wellington who will be performing with local musicians Nick Cornish (alto), Bill Martin (piano), Simon Eastwood (double bass) and Carl Woodward (drums).
Michael Costeloe is one of the leading trumpeters on the Wellington Jazz scene with international experience as performer and composer. He began his musical journey playing in local brass bands before studying Jazz Performance at the New Zealand school of Music. He graduated with an Honours degree in 2014 and quickly established himself as a prominent figure within the city’s jazz community.
